Honda MTF is the best option IMO. Some people also swear by the GM SyncroMesh tranny fluid.

Default Use.

...Honda MTF, always!

However, if your tranny is grinding, slightly, use regular, petroleum based, motor oil. Castrol GTX 10W-30 is a good choice. You will need to change it more often compared to the MTF.

Above all, stay away from any synthetic tranny fluids!!

See i had that 5th gear grind. I changed out my tranny fluid to GM syncromesh, and the difference is night and day! I can not make the tranny grind!!! Sooooo smooth.
I love it and i recommend it to everyone!!!

I was told by someone on this board that the GM SyncroMesh would help on Prelude trannies. Man, we put this stuff in my friends H22 tranny and this thing was a night and day difference! You can rev this thing to redline from 1st through 3rd without a grind. GM SyncroMesh

Any of your General Motors dealers will sell it to you. It will be about $9 per quart. It is well worththe price.
