The 98 Spec engine has the following advantages over the 96 Spec engine:

CTR intake cam
4-1 header with a 2.5" collector

The 98 Spec engine has the following advantages over the 96 Spec engine:

CTR intake cam
4-1 header with a 2.5" collector
The JDM ITR Cams are the same as the 97-98 Spec USDM ITR Cams, for all years of JDM production. The 00-01 USDM ITR Intake cam is more agressive than the JDM ITR intake cam.

I'm 99.9% sure of this.

no.
4.785 FD in jdm ITR 98+ spec.
4.400 FD in jdm ITR 95.5(96)-97 spec.

this is of course taking into consideration that a transmission is sort of considered apart of the motor

98+ 4th and 5th gear is different as well.

LSD has roller type bearings opposed to tapered roller..
