Default head milling specs? want to raise compression 1 point.

i think for every 10 thousandths off the head the compression goes up .5 points. i would like to take off 20 thousandths to up the compression 1 full point. this will be in a B16 with type r valvetrain. thanks.

want to check my specs, make sure that 1 point is 20 thousandths. i just talked to a napa machine shop by me, they say they will need to take off closer to 60 thousandths to gain a full point. i think the max you want to take off is around 40. any help is appreciated.

You could gain some by going with the Skunk2 high compression valves. Any milling or change of the head gasket thickness will cause your cam timing to be off and you will need cam gears to correct it.

i am pretty sure you are past the alowed limit to mill your head enough to gain 1 point of cr

get 2 layer head gasket, mill head a lil, and flat faced valves

i doubt it will get you to 1 but maybe .7-.85
