Default best amp IMPPs in 1.0 sealed

looking for the best amp to push 2 Pioneer IMPPs, the new ones. They are the duel voice coil, so I want a 2 channel amp. Whats the best amp for my subs for under $500. Oh yeah, they will probably be an a 2.0 (1.0 per sub) sealed box.

I think you should get the Fosgate Punch 700s, it only cost about $479.00 at Best Buy. I have it running my two JL 12's, I like it alot for the money.

Nice, but he said under $500. That would be the 250/1 for about $400.

500$ amp for two pioneer subs =/

id rather sell the subs, get better ones (either one 500-600rms 12, or two 3-400rms 10s/12s), use the rest for a 500rms mono amp. as for brands.. well anything except what they have at bestbuy/circuit city/good guys/swap meet/etc.
image dynamics, dei, jl, etc

then spend 250 or less. any more is not worth spending for those subs, unless you plan on upgrading. even so, something like a jbl bp600.1 would be great regardless for <200.

the jbl amp is a mono amp. That means it would only run 300 watts at 4ohms. My subs are duel 4 ohm voice coil. Which is why I want a two channel amp. Two 8 ohm subs = 4 ohms. I could get something 1 ohm stable, but that would be dumb for these subs.

arent mtx mono amps rated at 4ohm? the jbl's are 1ohm stable btw.

besides, i dont see the point in people buying high power multi channel amps for subs. the only benefit i can see is in case they want to use them for components, but thats a waste of power anyways. for subs, get a sub amp. if you want a component amp, get a comp amp. a mono amp will be cheaper, and a class d will consume less power..

for a mono amp to be used to its potential, you have to run them at 2 ohms. I think the one exception to that is the jl amps, which run the same amount of power regardless of ohms. So, if I have 2 duel 4 ohm subs, that means I either have 2 8 ohm, or 2 2 ohm subs, depending on how I wire them. So, If i run two 8 ohm subs, I will get 4 ohms. If I get a mono amp, it will not be used to its max, and I will be wasting money. If I get something 1 ohm stable, I will have to fork out a lot of money. This is why I want a 2 channel amp, I can bridge it, and run my subs at 8 ohms each, which is 4 ohms total.

My boss is good friend with the owner of a car audio store. So I can "get the hookup) I was just exploring my options. If my car sells, then I will probably get one w7 (haven't decided upon the size) and the amp you mention. If not, well then ghetto impps, here I come.

ya ive heard that. ive run mine at 1ohm and it didnt get any hotter than usual. mildly warm. this was running to two 300rms jbl gt subs, so they were perfectly matched. that leads me to believe these guys were overdriving the amp and did not have the gains set properly, and/or had a wiring problem. at worst, you can crack it open and run a pc fan blowing on the internals, as ive done this before on some unstable amps with great success. but i dont think you would need to resort to this anyways. all the people i know that have jbl mono amps are happy with them and know how to install properly, the ones that dont are the few questionable ones i hear about on the net, so its up to you.

btw those covers are tough little beasts, my friend dropped his 1200.1 on concrete almost giving me a heartattack, and sure enough it still ran fine

oh and as far as resale value if you dont like it, he ended up selling it for 20 less than he bought it for, new, on ebay.

Sell your subs and get an Adire audio shiva and run it off of the JBL 600.1 and build your own box. A complete system for I would say about 300-325$. That is what I did and I was very happy. Get the instructions from Adire's site and build a 25.5 liter box for the Shiva get the sub and the amp and be done with it. I HATE any pioneer sub. But that is just how I feel. But I promise you will like the Shiva more then the two IMPPs. I promise you that. SQ is better and I think that overall it will perform and last longer. But just my .02$.

arc for 2 impps lol

i can vouch for that. i had it in a 2.2cuft box and it was great. obviously it was not quite as loud as two of the jbls, but definitely destroyed one by itself. they are both rated about the same too.
the only thing i didnt like was only being able to use half of my amps capability as the shiva is dual 8ohm, so i was running at 4ohm. the bp600 provided plenty at 360rms@4ohm and was able to get the shiva to xmax and i was able to hear the tinsel slapping (i think they fixed that already). great sub. i just wanted a little more

Oh yeah, what is cost on a 10w7??? Cuz this shop in cali says the have them for $400. But my "hook up" told me cost was $600 . He said that the shop it trying to sell me remanufactured goods. However, he bought his when they first came out, so mabey the cost has come down. Or mabey he doesn't know his ****.

No they are not remanufactured. 600$ for the 10" is outrageous. You can get a brand new one with factory warranty for 400$ and cheaper online if you want. Personally I would NOT WORRY about the W7. I hate JL and I will never buy from them. I might sell them but buy them for myself I will not.

You can get the 13 1/2" w7 for around 700$ if you really look. The w7 is way to much money. There are subs out there that can give the W7 a run for it's money and are cheaper. Just depends on what you want.

Just get a Shiva or if you want something bigger then get a Brahma or an IDMAX. But go with the Shiva and you should be JUST FINE.

By the way if you buy a w7 offline then you don't get the JL warranty. JL does not have ANY online retailers as far as certified. Another reason why JL pisses me off.

I got two 12w3v2 jl and a hifonics zeus 6000. It bangs REALLY hard. I keep the gain on about 70%. Dont get RF, i had them on my civic. Their price/performance ratio isn't to good. I also like the Kenwood amps, powerful and cheap.

sound better at low volume? sure. does the shiva get louder with the same power as the pioneers? not really..

pioneers are the best subs you can get for around $50. their sound quality is absolutely amazing for the price.
