b20vtec all motor or ls/vtec turbo
hey guys.. im planning on buying a 92-95 hatch i need some suggestions from people that have this stuff or know lots about it.. would i be better off doing a b20 vtec all motor or ls/vtec turbo i want performance mainly and i want to hit 12.99 or faster in the 1/4.. thanks guys
Well I don't know much about that b20. But i have a friend with 2 Eg's. They both have ls vtec, and they both run 12's all motor. You wouldn't need a turbo in an ls vtec to hit 12's. You just have to build the motor bottom up to make sure it doesn't blow on you.
thats awesome dude.. could you do me a huge favor and ask him exactly what his setup is.. also.. is his car a hardcore drag car.. meaning interior totally stripped or does he have gauges and front seats.. im planning on taking out the back seats but thats about it.. also anyone know about how much a strong sturdy ls/vtec all motor setup would cost?
Well i know he has a full drag eg that he completely gutted and all drag setup. Its funny because with slicks i think his drag can hit mid 11's in the 1/4. I dont think that car is street legal. His legal car which he uses to just cruise the streets is all stock. All interior, no guages, not even slammed, pure stock with an ls/vtec. that car hits low to mid 12's. To build an ls/vtec you probably gonna need about 2,000 to 3,000 bucks to fully build it. ls/vtecs aint cheap but thats why they got power. Probably dyno out to close around 200 horses.
