Default My accord squeals!

My 1999 Accord has just started squealing (actually seems to be a high pitched scraping noise directly related to speed) when I am going down the road. It seems to be coming from the right rear and is definitely from rotation. It seems to start after hitting a bump (but not always) or after turning. The faster I go the higher the pitch. I have not had the time to deal with it other than taking a quick look for anything obvious. It is parked right now until I get back in town and get it fixed. Sound lik anything obvious? Thanks

Pull the wheel and check the brakes.

That is sort of what I suspected. It only has 30K and it does it whether I am breaking or accelerating. I will do that when I get home. thanks

It only has 30K
that sounds about right for a set of pads for some ppl. You've hit the squeal indicators...i've seen it before where they ALWAYS squeal all the time, not just when braking.

You happen to have a set of pads that decided to squeal almost all the time. If the pads still looked good once you pulled the wheels (or your about to trade the car in - ha), you could use a needle-nose plier to just bend the metal squeal bracket back slightly to kill the noise temporarily.

check the tension of your belts on your crank to the a/c and the powersteering, i had that horrible noise from the belts losing tension after my h22a settled in...

It is definetley your brake pads. I bought my 99 Accord used and just a few months later there was this shrill squeaking noise coming from the rear of the car. Turned out my brak pads were worn down to practically nothing. Apparently the newer Hondas will let you know when your brake pads are worn out.

Thanks for all the advice. I will check the brakes when I get home. That is what I originally that, but I was thrown off by the fact that it was scraping without the brakes being applied.
