h22 with bump shift conversion/swap???
my accord is an automatic, i want to do an engine swap, swapping over to manual is going to be too expensive, i want to swap in the h22 auto and i know the newer preludes had the bump shift auto, is there anyway i could swap this into my auto accord? has anyone ever done it before? please help
hey i got the h22 in my car and the auto h22 tranny
its not to hard and feels a lot better
the auto to stick is nice but so expensive and you have to totally change your car

I had the sportshift tranny in my accord when I performed my H22 swap.
97 h22 w/ the sportshift transmission. IT WAS A PAIN IN THE ***!!!!!!
Not only did I have to redo my ENTIRE electrical system in the accord, but I also had to hack up and weld my original transmission mount bracket to accept the 5th gen prelude tranny mount. that meant ripping out almost EVERY peice of wire in the accord and laying in almost everything prelude. I had to redo so many plugs in the interior.....the entire process took me almost a month. but the finished product was worth it.....well, at first. I didn't know that Honda fucced up on the design of the sportshift trannys for the 97 and 98 models. I ran my accord for a little over a year and I started noticing that the transmission was slipping. a few hundred miles later, the transmission was shot. I shipped it out to LevelTen performance to get a total performance rebuild along with a high-stall torque converter. I was telling myself that this transmission's gonna be bulletproof, but the tranny got stuck in 4th gear and blew up after about 6000 miles...not even a year! That's when I went ahead and did the auto to 5spd conversion and got everything straight. If you plan on doing the SS swap, make sure that you get the shifter box, the gauge cluster, ecu and COMPLETE wiring harness. oh yeah....if you can, pick up a 99-01 version of the sportshift tranny.
