Default Ferrea Valves vs. Itr valves?

I may be replacing my valves sometime soon.

I can get a good deal for a set of Ferrea std. valves for 200.

Was wondering if I should buy another set of Itr valves?

What is the weight difference between the two?

Anyone with experience? Also I might go with the .5mm over on Ferrea, anything to take into consideration with os valves? I have .020 mill and stage 2 skunks (which in actuality might be stage 1's ). Anyhow thanks for any opinions.

Everyone Ive talked to has suggested the Ferrera(sp?) valves if I ever replace my ITR valves. My motor has some work done though and higher than stock redline but as of right now im still with my stock valves.

I would pick ITR valves over anything available.

Why so?

The reason I didnt replace mine is because I was told by several people they could handle 10K RPM with no problem.

I like to keep it simple

stock valves do everything I need

I like OEM parts whenever possible

that isnt a very good reason
there are many parts on the r, that can be replaced by better aftermarket parts with no or very small downsides

go with rev or other. The itr valves are $16 a piece for intake and $25+ for exhaust.
it adds up

The only reason why I can think of sticking with itr valves, is if they are going in an itr head. that way you will not have to cut the head to fit the valves. i could be wrong about not needing a valve job, but I would assume that you can just bolt in the itr valves...

that isnt a very good reason
I simply feel that ITR valves do everything needed in most applications.
I've also has some terrible machine shop luck in the past so I prefer OEM parts whenever possible to eliminate some risks

One reason I did not replace mine is the following quote from the Alaniz website...

"Food for thought............" ALANIZ recomends using stock valves on all normally aspirated B16, GSR heads. Our flowbench testing has shown .5mm oversize valves dont work no matter who I get them from. I also gave them a fair chance trying diffrent seat angles and widths with no positive results. At mid to high lifts we see about 2% less flow than a well modified stock valve. Any one who has flowbench tested a B16 or GSR should know this. Oversize valves breath better at lower lifts if modified correctley. Please remember this is not a DART, ARF, 18 DEG BOW TIE, OR A BRODIX. Many people who work on AMARICAN IRON HEADS apply technics that might work well on Chevy's and Fords but fail to realize that if you have done flowbench testing on Honda heads you'de think twice about going this route. Dont be suckerd! We only sell SS oversize valves in turbo and nitrous applications where high heat will be encountered or in instances where oversize valves responded well on the flow bench. We never guess at what we do. Monkey see monkey do attitudes or I heard it through the grapevine mentalities are a NO NO! Hard facts and flow numbers is what we are about.

Make your own decisions though.....
