How many times have you ever seen this?

At our last auto-x in Tucson, TTOD went to a Celica GT-S in STS (street tires

)!!
He's the local bad-*** driver and ALWAYS finishes in the top 2 or 3 in PAX, but come on now- TTOD on street tires is just sick.

What really gets me is that as I've been improving, I've beaten his raw time for the past 3 months or so in 2 different regions, and out-PAXed him a few times. This event, I had a nasty spin on my 2nd run (mid 3rd gear and just a few feet from hitting a fence) which caused me to drive very tentatively for my remaining runs. Could I have beaten his time? I'll never know now, and TTOD for me would be quite an accomplishment (STX). Oh, well. Maybe next month

We have one or two STS drivers who regularly place highly in raw time out of 200+ drivers. But ASAIK, they have never had TTOD (that honor is almost always resevered for the one of two cars - Lotus 7 clone or an A-Mod garage special).

It's not all that suprising to see the 7th gen Celicas finishing at the top of the standings...

I just wish it would happen in my club a little more frequently.

Would you feel better if Ted's Lotus or Chuck's Zinc had been there to kick the crap out of us by 10 seconds?

BTW, did you get the video from your spin? I missed it, but I hear it was entertaining

Eric Kriemelmeyer got fastest time of the day in his STS Impreza RS at a Philly Region event... it was about 30 degrees all day, and so race tires just wouldn't heat up.... right, Pat???

i've gotten ftd once or twice, but it was because a)the mods didn't show up, or b)it rained cats and dogs.

really shouldn't happen in sts, but then again i've had z06's chase my raw times.....the sport where the driver is more important then the car. pax times aren't any better of a comparison, since sts pax is so damn soft. something that is somewhat of a sore spot in my book, but hey, i just want something i can brag about!
