As a student i am looking at designing the drivetrain for a 2 seater sports car using the new iVTEC-r engine from the new civic as the donor, the "K20A" I believe. I'm interested if anyone knows the location of the engine mounts for this engine, or failing that, for the previous VTEC in the civic. Alternatively still, any idea of where I may find out such information?? Cheers.

 

k20 is an rsx engine i believe i could mistaken

 

both are correct, K20 is from any 2.0 i-vtec

 

what exactly do you mean location of the engine mounts? we can help, just be a tad more specific. in the EG forum, there are pics of a k20 dropped into a 96-00 hatch, with closeups of the mounts.

 

ok, basically i heard the VTEC had been swung around, so as intake is front facing in the new Civic type-R, i'm not sure where the mounts are at all, a pure description of their location would probably suffice, pictures would be ideal. As, I think, the orientation is reversed (exhaust used to be front facing, no?) therefore the engine mount locations will probably be different, but pictures of either old or new engine mounts would be helpful.
