I'm about to order my tires: 205/45/16 Kumho Ecsta Supra 712's for my Rotas.
I got tires.com to come down on the price to match tirerack.com
I am debating if I want to get the road hazard / defect warranty or not. It's $10 a tire but covers any defects that may develop 100% life of the tire! Also, it covers patches as well, but it wouldn't be worth it to send a tire out just to get patched. I believe the nearest discount tire is in Orlando. I do have family down there, but I only get to go every now and then. (Maybe twice a year).
The total is $337 w/o the warranty and $378 with the warranty. Should I or should I not?
I did have a friend with 205/40/17 Kumho's (I believe 2 of the tires) that started devoloping bumps on the sidewall. This would be covered......
I guess I am looking for stories on tires. Do they usually last w/o defects or is it just every now and then you'll get a bad tire?

well I usually go with them because it can save you alot of money. I got a big screw stuck in the tread of one of my 225/45/17 dunlops and they replaced it for free. Otherwise I would have had to cough up 170 for 1 tire. They also give you lifetime rotations and balancing too which is nice.

Road hazard it will be
yup..they were a good investment for me..i ran over a pallot on the hiway an it took out 2 tires..only paid $20 per tire and mounting
tires.com is Discount Tire Co. and yes you should get their tire warrenty. They are called "certs" and they are very different from usual warrenties. They are not Pro-rated which is good. If the tire can't be repaired and still has leagal tread depth you get a new tire. All you have to do is buy certs on the replacement tire. $10 for a new tire...not bad
I'n case you ask....yes I worked for DTC for 3+ years. I would not go anywhere else for my tires.
