Comptech Icebox vs AEM CAI????
which one do u guys think would be better? i dont know anything about the box (power numbers and all that) so exerience w/ it and gains would be nice to know. which do u think would be most benificial to a fully built gsr? thanks
stay stock, use a K&N drop in and drill some holes at the bottom of ur air box
..its just not as pretty as the AEM or sexy as the coldbox with the Comptech sticker on it

icebox,
aem is built poor
it is easier to recharget he filter on da icebox vs aem. aem yo have to take off your wheel, then your fender liner then battle with the dam flimsy piping

I have never like the Comptech IceBox. The Comptech and AEM have comparable results. The links to the dynos below will prove that (I managed to find links to GSR equipped dyno runs). However keep this in mind. Comptech expects you to buy their short ram intake before you can use the IceBox. So you are looking for around $360 for the complete Comptech setup. AEM will run you MUCH less!
Basically the only thing Comptech provides is comfort for the pussies that are always whining about possibly hydrolocking their cars using an AEM system. Yes, it may be easier to clean the filter, but for the price they are asking I would rather take the AEM.
Check the dynos for yourself:

****** Geocities!...You will have to take the AEM dyno link and manually paste it into your browser window.

Plus....AEM is dyno proven best hp gain intake on the market. Numbers don't lie.

Not to throw an uncessary twist into this thread because I was wondering the same question. How does Injen compare in terms of quality and power to the AEM and Comptech.
Not another freak'n intake vs intake thread.
id have to say aem if your budget is kinda low...but if you got a bit more money go for the comptech..i like me aem but im gonna change to a comptech or a mugen airbox...i just want something diff then the aem and im a stunna...id say power is close to the same but the ice box has better throttle response...correct me if im wrong someone
Hhahahhahahha you ******* stupid *** nOOb go look at the ******* page before making dumbass post about intakes...there is two I see already on here you homo, use the search....to get a clue.
first off im not a noob. far from it actually. and i dont care about the post before mine. i had a specific question that I wanted to ask so i did. and if u notice in my reply i wasnt tryin to argue or start **** with u man. theres just really no need to make a stupid comment like u did. "homo.....get a clue" damn your retarded for even tryin to start the verbal fighting over the net. now leave. thank you.

lol. you 2 are pathetic. learn to comprehend what u read. i didnt say get off HT. but leave the thread, your bullshit is not welcome nor needed here. and for that other thread does it ask the questions that i did? nope not at all. now if u would take the time to look how long ive been a member, ive been here longer then both of u. even tho its just a few days longer. so drop it.
as for the rest of u that gave a usefull statement. thanks i appreciate it. looks like its split pretty much down the middle between the 2 intakes. since both have similar gains and im not worried about hydrolock. i think im gonna go for the AEM for the price. thanks again

you are going to get the same Hp #'s from either the Comptech, Ingen, or AEM.
if you dont want to worry about puddles, get the comptech. Otherwise get the AEM.

AEM vs Comptech? NO question, go with the Ice-box. Good HP numbers and much better throttle response, which AEM sucks in that department. The V2 however........we'll have to see.
But this kinda urked me
Or use an ITR pipe
Well I guess I'm a ***** for having a lowered car and an air intake that sucks from the bottom of the car, and not feeling comfortable. Not to mention AEM's annoying sounds, i can't wait to be rid of mine. It's like everyone's first mod, and it always gets replaced by comptech or arc, j's, or the person goes turbo, etc.....
