Default the ITR forum lately....

i know i'm gonna get raped for this, probably docked a couple of percentage or what not, but is this forum dead and gay? i swear, i hardly check this forum anymore just because there isn't anything interesting except for **** like "should i get light weight lugnuts?" or crap like "check out this R on ebay." what happened to the techinical aspect of this forum? it seems like it got to the point where people even just post up for sale stuff or things they did on the weekend just because this forum died and than some. flame away but i KNOW for a fact that many of you feel the same way, just don't got the ***** to say it. well, flame on...

That's funny/peculiar/ironic/odd - I think this forum is now as technical as it has ever been, and more so than at many times in the past couple of years.

Maybe it's just because some of the old faces aren't around as often any more?

Alot of people like to Bitch about the Forum not having much tech, well the content is up to the members who post it and I don't see the people complaining posting any Tech Questions.

Sorry, don't take it the wrong way but I am fed up with people complaining about the forum but not doing anything to change it................

Once I get my hondata g-sensor in, I will have some cool dynos of intake comparos. and hopefully cam comparos

most people here just care about shtuff.

case in point:
dropspeed spent some money and alota time on this, and not many people care

https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=361702

It has grown to, fight the post ****** and start creating your own tech posts. that you have put effort into it

scott was tired of the hytech drama & associated poo. So he stepped up, and got some headers, and did some dyno runs.
but no one really cares
https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=353304

it was a great post with lots of tech stuff in it

most people who are tech oriented are out racing or building their own race car, instead of wasting time and ending up at the same point. the same point where a bunch of tech tards ask lame time consuming questions that dont end up doing anything anyway

I think there are still plenty of good threads with lots of useful information around here, but many of the threads are repetitive ones (how much hp will this give me), (what does it take to get 200whp). Maybe people are actually using the search button and not posting as much.

I read Dropspeed's post with interest in that the Extrude Honed ITR manifold seemed like it would be beneficial in a turbo/high flow situation.

Someone even posted one for sale a week or two ago but I'd never heard back from him about how much the owner wanted for the piece.

FWIW -- there are a few too many pic request threads ...

I see your point, but at the same time what do you expect us to do. Most of us that post "tech" questions usually get the "do a search" response. Most of the answers are there.

I, for one, do not think the forum is getting all that bad, but I miss the times when people would ask questions that have already been answered simply because theres always new info or opinions that are brought to the table each time.

The way I see it, it can only get worse from here on out simply because after a while, every single question will be in the archives and no one will bother to answer a question that has already been answered.

The alternative, posting semi non-itr related threads like us socal folk used to do (simply because a lot of us know eachother and there are quite a few of us), has resulted in a lot of posts being locked.

Look on the bright side, on our worst day, we're still light years ahead of any other board out there.

That's funny/peculiar/ironic/odd
LOL, I got the joke.

like anything else in life, there are ups and downs, good and bad times. its what we make most of that counts...even with all its imperfections, this board is still my lifeline as to the "latest" news having anything to do with the R. HT compared to other forums has a more mature and controlled environment that makes the visit much more enjoyable...

agree with me or not, i can't imagine what regret i'd feel if this board ended tomorrow

There really isnt going to be any new products for our vehicles so there isnt much to talk about. For everyone thats been here for years there isnt much new, but for the newbies...well they have alot of catching up to do.

There are also a good number of questions that don't get answered on here. Good questions. Like tuning. And it seems that anytime certain topics are brought up they end up as a semi-off topic argument.

Unless we are talking about the EXPO lately, most threads just fizz out. Why? Because there is a wealth of info to be had by searching? I've spend hours reading old threads to gather info, but feel that's the best way to get info sometimes, since alot of people don't want to repeat themselves or reopen topics for discussion.

ITRs are becoming obtainable for those high-school kids that drooled over them a few years ago. So, we see an influx of new owners asking simple questions that could easily be searched for.

Thankfully most are buying RSX's and ruining in that forum

We(someone else) should compile a list of FAQ, and make it sticky. We could add to it or edit as needed, but we need one.

yeah, there's some good beginnings to one, like Yoshi's page, the socalitr page, etc.. maybe compile them somehow?
