I was wondering if anyone has attempted this. It seems pretty simple. Just requires some pipe and that would be it right?

You're not going to get any boost out of yoru A/C. it dosent push nearly hard enough to do anything but restrict airflow.

The only problem is that when, i turn on my a/c the engine isnt as powerful. So having the supercharger results in a marginal gain with the a/c on. At least I dont loose as much power as all of those dumb people driving around with there a/c. They are never going to beat me with their a/c

I will or might already have the fastest honda in north america for dynoing with the a/c on. you arent hardcore if you dont race with your a/c on

haha Air Conditioner, everyone knows you just Mod a Hairdryer and add a potentiometer to adjust the Boost. Connects inline on the Intake Tube.

he could be on to something. You could mod your AC so that in blows cold air into your intake, like split your CAI in the middle and route a tube into it so that you aren't restricting flow but you are cooling the intake charge.... seems like alot of needless work for a few cold-air ponies. HOwever I am sure this is not what he had in mind...

 

Not to mention that the few hp you gain from the cold air would not make up for the power loss caused by having your air conditioning on.

 

Hahaha! That's a roots-style supercharger, aka JRSC, with an A/C electro-magnetic clutch on it, instead of a regular drive pulley. Mercedes has been doing that for a while now - can't remember which model[s] - don't care enough to look it up.

Just wanted to set the record straight. That is NOT an A/C compressor mounted on the lime green mount; it's a supercharger...

 

To be fair Saab it is rumoured is developing an electric turbocharger, unlike the ebay electric turbo that we all know of this one might actually work. Of course if you want to go low-buck turbo there are ways...

 

 

Umm, that is kind of dumb. Although, I bet if you were to take the compressor part of the A/C and fabricate some parts for it, you could make a crappy super charger for a small weed eater or lawn mower engine.
