that depends on you and what you want from a turbo, how fast you want to go, and what motor your planning to put it on.
you need to be more specific...

it would be going on a 5th gen prelude... i would just like something that would lat my prelude beat all those little domestics who do nothing but cruise up and down the street looking for races

All domestics huh??

JE Pistons 9:1 Compression
Eagle Rods
Golden Eagle Sleeves
Drag Gen 4 kit @25 psi
Crower or Skunk 2 Turbo Cams
Hondata S200 with boost and datalogging
Quaife LSD
Web Valvetrain

This setup should be good for up to 400- 500 whp if properly tuned. although its going to cost you a pretty penney

Hey Man we are not trying to be sarcastic we are just telling you that you need to be more specific at what you say. Saying you want to beat all V8's in your town well prepare to spend about 10-12k to do that. If you were to give us a horespower goal you would like to make that would be much more beneficial.

How much do you have to spend? That is going to be another LARGE factor in deciding what you will need for your setup.

Street racing is fine as long as you have bail money and stay out of traffic.
Yall don't know the guy so you can't judge his driving skills. He could have been racing go karts competitively since he was 9, we have no idea. We do need to know his money situation though. Even a low psi turbo set up needs alot of tuning and you can still blow ringlands if you aren't careful. That equals big money. There are cheaper ways of beating V8s, but I'll keep quiet about it.

thats true i wasn't judging his driving skillz. i was referring to utility poles, parked cars, brick walls, trees...etc even the best drivers end up in an accident once in their lifetime, the question is how bad the accident will be. i just don't want to read about death due to street racing, especially when they're innocent victims who was drivin home from christmas shoppin or something. on the realz, i don't give a **** if he street races. thats his life on the line. go **** with the v8's at the track or somethin. i'm sure their's plenty there. anywayz disregard this post cuz he's 16 and at that age, he ain't gonna listen. so do what you feel homie. peace

well yeh first of all i just started this forum to get opinions i have nowhere near enough money to even buy a turbo i was just trying to see that in the future if i ever get the money if they are worth what you pay for them.... as for street racing i hardly ever do this most of the use of the turbo would be for prestige.... i live in a city with around 200,000 people in canada so there aren't all that many super fast cars.... most people in chevy cavaliers with body kits who think they are the best cars on the road...

man, yall need to quit dissin this poor kid. just cuz hes 16 doesnt mean hes an idiot (although it appears that he might be one anyways ) your average V8 is not putting down 4-500 rwhp, thats just ridiculous(edit: I dont mean ridiculous for modified engines, its not too hard) . and let us not forget the weight factor. we're probably talking about 300hp from the average SBC 350. in a 1000lb (edit: 3000lb car) car, you could get away with maybe 290 whp in an unmodified lude. with a bit of weight reduction, maybe even 250hp to beat some of the domestics. As for the turbo, F what they say, turbos are badass! but they have a point, turbos can be dangerous. not just to you, but to your engine too. sounds to me like you wouldnt want to do more than run 7lbs of boost on the stock engine, and 250whp seems like a stretch to me (one of you boost gurus correct me if im wrong). But turbos arent the only think that'll kill you. Im currently working on building a NA Datsun that could run rings around almost every car on this forum (just bought the datsun, so dont take me up on the challenge just yet). Turbos arent the only way to go ridiculously FAST! long post, im tired STFU. and take care of yourself, dont be stupid!

If *THESE* are the domestics you want to beat.. ummm.. the 5th gen lude by its self is more than enough lol
