Default h22 accord

I am curious to know who is running with an h22 in an accord (early 90's). What have you found some of the cons (-) and positives (+) to be? I have been pondering the idea of a 1993 ex 4dr accord, with an h22 dropped it. Though I am still undecided.
What are your guys' opinions on this?

Chris

I have a 94 4door, i don't think there are that many negatives. Maybe that it's a little heavier and can be a gas guzzler sometimes. The pro's definitely out weight the cons. I think the h22 was the best thing i've done to my car. I'm sure almost everyone else will agree.

So far so good! Thanks. Can anybody show me timeslips? Would you say that the Accord is still pretty slow or no?

Chris.

There are many different 4th gen Accords here in this forum. Some Are set up for drag racing and others are set up for road course. Accords can be made respectfully fast, but to go really fast (fast is relative) it will cost you some dough. People like ludehrt, KentuckyAccord and myself run in the 13's without forced induction of any type. Each of us has chosen a different route to achieve quick times. If you look at forced induction, I am sure there are many more people running respectable times as well, but again going fast is relative. To me, a low 13 is fast, but to others that may be slow. It depends on your perspective.

I have a 90 accord 4-dr with a H22A4 in it and I love it. True it is a lil worse on gas but not real bad. A friend of mine ran a 14.4 in it with CAI and nothin else. I can't find the slip but it really did happen. I love it. you can have pretty much everything you have now but with 1/3 more HP. Performance parts are a little pricy but worth it. It is an easy swap to do and you will like it. I know people have mixed feelings but I don't. Well as soon as I get my heater going I won't. If you have anymore ?'s just ask.

I ran/trapped 14.6@99 (no I don't "Got Traction?") with i/h/e/VAFC/ECU.

Pros- be faster (every case is different so depends on the car.

Cons- Gas mileage is ot the door most likely (depending on how you drive) and reliabilty of a stock accord may(will) decrease. In my case drastically.

jdm shmayDM, get an H22a1

i have a 92 2-door. with i/e, test pipe and hondata, i got 33 mpg when i drove to texas from florida. daily driven i get around 27 mpg, and i definitely dont pussyfoot the car around. i ran a 14.9 with the accord transmission. it ran a 17.1 before the swap. it dynoed 109 hp before, now it dynoes 180.
to me, it's worth it. but dont be a dumbass [like me] and use the accord transmission.
