Default Turbonetics? Crap or good? And will it hold up?

I was planning on boosting my B18C1 @8psi on stock internals, will this hold up with no internal work? If not, what internals should I replace? Also what are the thoughts on Turbonetics, good or bad?

turbonetics is alright. The customer service sucks!!

dont forget precisionte.com everyone is moving to precision or innovative. hp car is running precision t74. 8.59's!!! From what i understand, all of the good people from turbonetics left and moved to innovative turbo.

turbonetics built our race cars turbo wrong. they built it with an o-trim on a t72. when we finally got the turbo on and got stuck at 575hp we realized it was not the right trim for 700+hp which is what we asked for. they told us oh well and it will be 400.00 to upgrade to q trim. They admitted it was built wrong but we didnt call in the alloted time.Do they not realize that you order the parts for a race car months ahead of time before you will actually use them?? Anyway, we fixed and made it q trim and picked up 100hp at the same boost level. Our race car now sports a turbonetics sticker on it with the word "sucks" underneath it. Wait until they see that the 2nd NHRA race this year!! I hope we can pull off low 9's!!!

The o-trim is so tiny, I'm surprised you didn't notice something was wrong. Glad to hear the Q is working for you. Was your whp on gas or alky?

we made 667 on alky. we never noticed the wheel since it was our first ever t series turbo that we had. the q isnt much bigger but the pitch of the wheel is much different.

They are becoming very popular. I'm not fond of the finish process they use.

Is it the product that everyone is referring to? or it the company's service level? Because frankly, I think a lot of people get these confused. I know of a few companies that put out awesome products but have no service skills...and vice-versa..

Between the O and P trims, I think the P is 1/4" larger diameter wheel. Q is even bigger. Have a Q on order now. I think with your whp, low 9's should be easy for you

Turbonetics has worked great for us. I don't know about them sizing your turbo for you, really depends who you talk to there. We do our own sizing and they assemble them, works out good.

You'll pay a little more, but Innovative turbos are really nice. I'm using an ITS
60-1 and am very happy with it.

12.40 @ 126? what kind of NITTOs were you on, on 19 psi!!!!!!!!!that sucks, 2.5 60 ft, must of been a non-driver, ?> why would you even put a car on the track with 19 pounds and use street tires or Drag Radials?? I ran 12.58 @108 mph in a 93 hatch with a 99 gsr turbo in, DRAGG gen 3 kit, the motor is completely stock except for injectors, and that was on about 8-9 psi. I was just wondering because your numbers looked funny, but as always im sure there is sn explanation.............lol

there is an explanation. It was just an exhibition run for fun . I was at the track with some friends that were running their cars and they talked me into making a pass on the drag radials. I had just put in a brand new type r tranny and was not going to attempt to break anything. Right now I'm getting my cage put in,quaife, axles, and long tube header w/ t series turbo.i'm shooting for high 9's and driving home. heres a video so you can see how pathetic my launch is.
