check under the hood. i know the spark plug gap is there. sometimes the valve clearance is listed too.

get a haynes manual at least.

if the valves are held in place by a clip on the retainer (which is fixed) and the retainer is held in place by the spring and rocker arm why would the valves ever need to be adjusted

What are you talking about? the gsr has adjustable rockers to set the lash correctly. If your talking about tip height, thats more of a domestic thing because 99% of them don't have an adjustable valvetrain.

so why is there a link showing how to adjust them if there is no need? ya are confusing me. Acura and Honda both say they need to be adjusted at a certain time throught the cars life but I just cant remember what exactly it was they said. I was just told to check them and make sure that they aint slapping together or they will shave the valve.?????????????????????????????

All Hondas/Acuras have to have their valves adjusted at some time or another. Buy a Helms manual, it will tell you the intervals and the exact procedure.
