Default IMPORTANT weight of Aftermarket rods for h22a. (PLEASE READ)

I'd like to know some specs on aftermarket rods if possible. regarding their weight in Grams for the following rods...

- Crower IBEAM
- JUN
- Eagle HSP
- Probe Industries
- Carrilo
- Pauter Machine
- OEM obd1
- OEM obd2

standard h22a rods, stock journal and big end and small end... trying to see if there is that many differences. between them all.

if you have added rods please add them and the weight you mesure or got for that rod... thanx!!!

Your setup looks very similar to mine..If I were u I wouldn't bother w rods....If I did it all over again I would have kept my stock rods and valves..I went w ESP eagles and crower SS valves. I think stock valves flow the best and the rods....well I could have made the types pistons fit on mine w a little work from the machine shop.... I'd save the money if I were u.

I don't know what the weight is, but it was recently discovered that later H22A4s (00 and 01 models at least) have rods from the factory that are both forged and visably much thinner looking in order to reduce internal rotating mass.

I can't tell from that pic. But somebody posted pics about 1 month ago of the old cast H22A Honda rods VS the "new" forged H22A Honda rods.

Do a search, n00b.

hahahahha (noob)

well i have the parts listed in the sig, the motor appart and waiting until march to assemble.. in the meantime i`m buying all that i can afford, once march it`s getting assembled and dropped in my ek, i have all the parts to do the swap allready... weird eh, a built h22a in an ek from a GSR coupe.. i hope it`s fast and fun.... i`d rather buy h22a aftermarket rods.. it`s not really the money that bothers me is added security if you wish.. just knowing i have something down there is better...

and well i might ITBS once i get a good header this summer.. so good strong rods for na reving is a must

if this puppy blows then sleve and turbo hell the motor will allready be partially built for it anyways..

You bastard I found this thread YOU started https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=318422

H22a4 vs. Pauter

H22A1

Newer H22A4 rods are defitely 'thinner' and 'forged' then?

My F20B rods are of the new design as well, which I suppose is encouraging...

Oh yeah, that's the one! So the left rod in the top pic is the "new" forged H22A rod, and the bottom pic shows 4 "old" H22A rods. You can see that the rod portion of the ...umm ...rod ... is narrower. And the Crank-end looks a bit less substantial.

Interesting if you look at my F20B rods they are quite a bit different from the h22a rods...
