just a quick VAFC hack question...already did search.
i already did a search on it and i found these two things which i'm still confused about:
- can the vafc hack be used on obd II civics like the 99 SiR or is it strictly for obdI hondas? i only saw one guy who posted that he's using it in his obd II car and getting cel 45 but didn't get a reply from anyone. by the way, the SiR here doesn't have ANY O2 sensor(don't know if that means anything to the hack).
- how would i know if the injectors i going to buy are indeed 450cc? is there any indicator or number i should look for? on one thread, it mentioned that it should have a blue color stripe. is that always the case? if i buy one with a blue stripe, is it always a 450cc?
any help will be greatly appreciated.

. yes i can used on OBDII.
the blue color tops are referring to DSM injectors.. the blue tops are 440/450cc the pink ones are 390cc i beleive. and yes you can use the afc on an obd2... btw dont forget to hook up the VTM if you have one on your ecu/car.... if u dont you will get a CEL hth

That's the best way to tell for sure.

This is a pretty good explanation of what the VTM is if your car/ecu supports it or even has it for that matter:
"Oil pressure does NOT trigger VTEC. Oil pressure is used push the pin in and lock the rockers of course, but VTEC mount and unmount are triggered by the ECU, which is obvious since the VAFC is taking over this function. The VAFC also does not send a signal to the ECU to activate the VTEC solenoid, it trigger the solenoid itself. The stock ECU uses the VTM (VTEC Pressure Switch) as a check to make sure that VTEC actually activated when it said it would. If the VTM wire does not activate right when the ECU thinks it should it triggers the code 22 CEL."

my obd2 ecu gave me a code when i hooked up the vtm to my o2 sensor thinking i didnt need it. i wanted to do the blue wire mod ...
BTW my ecu threw the code when took my car out for a ride to test if vtec worked correctly so Dirtyludes explanation seems correct
