Just wrapped up the weekend at Moroso. Since my GS-R is out of commision, and my Civic is.. well.. slow, I ran my brother in law's 2K2 EX on 50-shot. Had a tough time getting used to launching on DR's with the bottle, but by the end of the weekend I came away with:

2.44 60'
14.93 @ 92mph

and a

2.31 60'
14.77 @ 84mph.

Why the 84mph on the 14.7? Well this was done during the 1st round of eliminations. I was struggling to get any kind of consistency, but I settle with a 15.19 dial-in figuring I'd run no better.. boy what a time to get the best run I knew something was wrong when I blew by my opponent at mid track, so I jammed on the brakes a good 100' or so before the line to prevent a break out. Well of course, with a 14.77, that didn't help, but had I already known that about 14 seconds ago I had already lost when I red-lighted ( ), I could've at least stayed on it and pulled a 14.6 or maybe high 14.5.

In any event, I guess I was happy with the time considering it's nothing more than a 7G EX with I/E and a 50-shot. So for you 7G-ers, some time reference

 

thats great dave was that the blue coupe,thats some pretty good times,when i went 2 weeks ago there was a guy there with a 7thgen ex coupe with a custom turbo kit the best i saw him run was a 14.8 at 91 mph i t was pretty quick but people were saying it was slow but i gave him props because it was a custom kit and considering those cars go 17's it was running pretty hard but whats with the low mph

 

Yea it was ok. I wanna take it back and run on street tires though cause those DR's were MAJOR overkill on the car! I did manage to pull a 16.8 on motor, but that was with a 2.5 60' time, I'm sure it'll run 16.4-16.5 on motor alone on street tires. Ehh.. till next time

 

My friend ran a best of 16.5 at low 84mph trap speed, and a 16.7 at a high 85 mph trap speed, both with crappy 2.55x 60ft times. I think with some practice they could maybe pull a high 15. His 2k1 EX only has I/E.

 

Ehh I dunno about 15's, low 16's I can see.

 

yeah i am the kid that ran the times 16.7 and my bro pulled the 16.5. when i pulled 16.7 i had a trap of high 15's i think. if i could get better rubber and pull better 60' ft then i think i could hit high 15's.
