thanx fellas! you say no more racing..........you mean on the way right? as long as I stay away from boosting on the road trip I should be ok? no boost means stay under the 0 on the gauge right? just wanna be sure....oh and what do you consider "long" period of time? thanx

hey thanx man..............what is the turbo doing when its at like 8-5 on the vacuum side? I can here it kinda rearing up? is that boosting or is it just kinda warming up? oh and another thing Im going to drive it down there untuned and try and get it done there in Austin or San Antonio, will it hurt anything? got any suggestions on where? thanx

Damn that's a long way. I drive 180miles to go home and I still think that's a lot. Go about 5 over the speed limit cuz it's not worth getting ticketed in small towns and crap (huge hassle to deal with, guess how I know?). I usually stay at around -10 to -12psi cruising and get 35mpg. I try to use hills as a way to save gas too. Like going down hills, I keep it at -10psi and I get up to 80-85mph and when I go up the hill, I keep it at -10psi and my speed drops back down to around 75mph. Oh and since it's winter, turn your vents from outside to in and turn it all the way hot. If it gets too hot for ya, crack open a window. Have fun on your trip!
What do you think I am chancing? I mean I was gonna get it tuned before I leave but I havent had a chance. I could get it semi tuned here in town but I dont really trust these guys here to tune it. I was gonna go somewhere where they have tuned alot of turbo Hondas. Should I get these guys here to do the air/fuel a little closer with like 3-4 pulls then finish tuning in TX or just drive slow without building boost on the way and just get it tuned there? thanx

i drove my boosted integra to Laguna Seca & back(i live around LA) for the super bike races. not single problem. i guess just obviously avoid staying in high speed boost for long periods of times.
and just keep an eye/ear out for anything.
yes, and a big **** you to leather seats, broken a/c, and driving through central cal.
look at Stan and his integra, cali->arizona->texas, and what else? jesus, that man's got to get at least a little bored.
edit: i have to start reading the whole threads before posting, but "un-tuned?". uhhhh be careful.

How far a trip is the one you took? just curious. lol no ac? musta been pretty hot....oh well at least you were in a nice car..hehe..............as far as the tuning, well Im thinking of going here locally to get the air/fuel put a little closer to tuned then it is. Then when I get to Austin go somewhere and get it fully tuned by somebody with experience on turbo hondas. what you think? any suggestions on where to go in Austin? thanx!

I drove from San Antonio TX to NYC, It was fine, I was in VAC the whole time and just going easy on her. When I would stop and get gas, I'd wait a couple of minutes until i shut her down and that was it. I did check the oil on the second morning and gave a visual inspection just to see. I think I added come oil, maybe 1/2 a quart cause she burned some.
Hope this helps.
Hope this helps.
Ill be in Kileen on Thursday but I wont be in Austin till either Friday or Saturday. I want to see bout getting my car tuned by somebody that regularly tunes turbo hondas on Saturday morning or even Friday evening whenever is best. Just dont know where to go havent been in town in a while. I will be there just for the weekend though. Then Ill be in Corpus Christi throught the holidays. Let me know what ya think I should do. Thanx!

Victoria? damn I used to live close to Beeville. haha thats funny. Its closer for me to go to Charlotte or Atlanta than Florida but Im heading to TX so I wanna do it there.
I don't know who I would trust my car to be tuned by here in Austin. The only shops with a dyno are domestics shops other then protech which only has a so-so reputation with their cars. They have a couple of quick supras and rx-7s, but not a whole bunch of really fast hondas. I am personally driving out of Austin to Jotech to get my car tuned by Tony in January.
I would not worry too much about it. I drive my car over a 1000 miles a week. After 1800 miles you should be pretty much broken in. I would defiantly monitor the gauges I always keep and eye on them. I always carry some tools with me just incase. Also if you hear any weird noises take the time out to pull over and check them out. And most importantly stay awake. Don’t fall asleep behind the wheel and crash your pride and joy.
Hope that helps.

Hey man THANX! thats the best news yet....hehe I do always monitor the gauges I DO have..........I wont fall aslepp cuz Ill be on so much Mountain Dew and Xenadrine.........lol.....naw Im going hm so Ill be excited to get there.
