Are Civic Type R's Allowed in the US ?
wuts up my friend found a ChampionshipWhite right hand drive Genuine Civic Type R in California and he wants to have it shipped 2 New York...Are they allowed here ??? if anyone has info please tell me thanks...
For a daily driver or a "track only" car?
Daily = hear it can be hard to register in any state
Track = not so hard - just buy a trailer to haul it on.

ur friend needs to contact the department of motor vehicles and his insurance company and customs and whatever else. i think you can get a 1 year temporary registration for the car, then you have to ship it out of the country, then ship it back in and get a new temporary 1 year registration. this guy had a lotus elise and thats how he kept it in the country, every year he shipped it to the bahamas and stayed there with it for a week, then shipped it back to florida and got a new 1 year temporary registration. this other guy had a complete RHD 98 ITR and he had it insured and registered, but im not sure how he did it. he really didnt want to get into cuz it was kinda lengthy and complicated, but it was legal. he took me for a ride in it.
I think he only has to make it pass emissions...

WARNING
my integra had to sit in line at customs for over 3 hours.........civic type r's are smaller so you might not be able to push your way in........perhaps you could use a raft and smuggle it in??
