Torque converter rpm stall
Ok when I was power braking this weekend while streetracing.(yes I know...
) My torque converter usually stalls at about 2100rpm, but for some reason it happened to be stalling at close to 2500-2700rpms! Although it did help out my launches out quite alot, I also noticed that I had my Maintenance light on when I was driving home from Houston so I'm pretty worried right now. I have just about 12,000 miles on the car and I am hoping that it's on just for the 15,000 mile check up. My last maintenace check was a few months ago when I had about 6,000 miles .

If it's the maintence required "light" (goes green, to yellow, to red).. that's nothing more than a light that suggests when you should get your oil changed (or other check-up) based on miles. Now if it's the CEL, then that's different. For your car, at 12,000.. i believe that's just time to change the oil.. if you already have had it changed recently just stick your key into the slot beside the light. This will reset it to green
Thank you rjr162! Does anyone know why my torque converter stalled higher than normal though? Because it's never done that before....but it does help my launch by quite alot.
