Not having much luck trying to sell my car in the Classifieds since there isn't too many road racer/auto-x people so I decided to post it in here for more exposure.

Fast car too... sorry to hear that you're getting rid of it I'd pick it up but just bought a house and can't afford to drop that sort of $$ right now

hey, not to step on your post, but how did you win a SM championship in your car? it's totally illegal for the class. i guess the rules are really lax down there. you are not allowed to remove sound deadening or carpet. well, good luck with your sale.

Hey yeah, if we protest you, that should help our Mustang's chances. Actually, our Region (we're both in Central Florida Region) has run a Street Mod class since the mid '80s. I'm not sure if they ever converted to the "official" national rules, but a couple of years ago I asked about the rules and was given a very quick summary: If you drove it to the site, you were in.

And for a little history, one of the guys behind our Street Mod rules was none other than Howard Duncan, now one of the big-wigs at SCCA. (He's from our area; his Street Mod car from back in the day was a Datsun 610 powered by a small-block Ford. And yes, a 610, not the way cooler 510.)

I run it locally within the Central Florida Region and I started out legal in SM last year and no one ever even came close except for a few of my friends and they had no problem with me being in SM. The only thing that makes it illegal are the lack of carpeting and sound deadening, big deal it weighs what, maybe 20 pounds or so?
David, you don't have to worry about me running in SM anymore now since the last Valencia event was probably my last event with this car.

Yeah, we heard you were going to stop running the car, and to be honest, we'll miss the (quite tough) competition.

Yeah, I'd really like to keep the car but I must let it go. I need to start saving up for a house and a wedding. I will just have to start over again at a later date when things settle down.
