Just a little fact that I noticed while swapping floormats:

The '01 ITR floormats (all black) are lighter than the '00 ITR floormats (checkered) because of the padding underneath it. The padding is thicker on the '00 and the spikes under it are also thicker and longer.

 

since when did you turn into Bbasso?

 

Another Fact...

Pre-2001 floormats are hideous. They look like they were made from a 1970s sofa.

Glad to know I'm a few ounces lighter than pre 2001 stock R's.

I've been advised to get a set of the checkered mats so as to not ruin the more expensive ones.

Also another fact, I hear that the UKDM mats are lightest out of all. Not sure how much JDM ones weigh though.

Odd, I have some '00 mats that have thick padding along with thick spikes.

 

I just purchased some either 2000 or 2001 ITR floormats from SIINSI and they just have high friction padding on the bottom (as well as a wear pad for your clutch and gas pedal feet), whereas my stock 97' floormats have spikeys on the bottom and no wear pad.

 

That is odd. None of my '01 or '00 floormats have that anti-friction padding on top. I'll get pics up by tonight.

my holand-spec ITR mats are the lightest honda mats available. no rubber, just the top carpet and bottom is foam.

 

Thats what mine are like that I got from SIINSI(miguel). Very Light.

Ebboy: Those look like the USDM '00 that I have EXCEPT it has that square box on the driver side.

I was under the impression from seeing Yoshi's UKDM floormats that they are all black and are VERY different from the USDM.

 

dumb question. but what do u use on that hole on the driver side mat to hold them in place?

 

There is a plastic peice that sticks up to keep the mat in place.
