well i noticed this couple days ago.. i dont wanna put my tranny together til i find out what this is. i checked out my helms manual and really couldnt find out what it is part of. the peice on the bottom of the tranny.. in the shell

 

hmmm...don't know....don't like the look of that crack next to it though...

 

hmm.. lemme check those out. hopefully its nothing

 

i just cheked them out.. i think they are stress fractures.. thats nothing major is it. i dont wanna have to send the tranny back

It's part of a cable transmission VSS assembly by the looks of it. Was your trans shipped with a bunch of other transmissions?

I wouldn't sweat it too much, bonus prize if you ask me lol.

yeah it was shipped.. oh and the VSS was broken too.. i put a new one on tho.

that jdm tranny's no good, you need to trade it for my usdm one.

yep. That stuff is all over if you look closely.. (it is on mine and other people I know's). Not a big deal..

 

If you still have that VSS part, my buddy has a VSS thats missing that part only.
