Trying to figure shipping costs. seller says one seat weighs 60lbs. I say it can't be that much, can it?

anyone know the approximate weight of one JDM Recaro seat w/ rail?

one seat weighs 36-38 lbs with the rails, which are heavy. You might not think that they are that heavy until you try and put it in your car. Much heavier than stock.

 

How much more do they weigh than stock ones?

 

stocks weigh in the mid 20's. if you ever saw them next to each other, you could tell that the jdm recaros definitely have more "seat". All of the side bolster and back support gives it the extra weight

 

so roughly 20 pounds more weight for the JDM recaros thats not bad at all, I will just strip something else out to make up for the weight

 

take out the motor. who needs that

Well from the searches. It seems that the stock seats are ~30-35lbs w/ rails. And everyone says the JDM recaro is around ~10-15lbs heavier. ~50lbs is not that far off then.

my 01 oem seats weighed in at 34lbs with the rails & sliders with seat belt buckle.

my srIII weighed in at 47lbs with the recaro rails and sliders.

wow, I can't believe these seats weigh that much.

I guess the USDM ITRs made out better than their JDM counterparts, in this one small instance, of weight savings on the seats.

 

jdm recs with rails are about 32lbs.......I know that, cause I weigthed mine a few weeks ago

 

okay... now I'm confused. how can the weights be that different? that's like 15-20lbs difference in readings. guy I'm talking to about the seats is saying his is 55lbs each... reading from his bathroom scale.

 

Maybe the gravity on Earth is fluctuating??
I suggest everyone start using kilograms instead of pounds...

 

about 14 Kilos with rails...and I used a package scale...not a damn bathroom one
