Chain and Sprocket
It's about that time for a new chain. Just purchased a new RK replacement. Is it recommended to change the sprockets too? This would be a good time to play with the gearing. Sprockets i have now look and seem fine. Chain I know is gone since it can't be stretched no more. No more room past the blue mark on the swingarm. Still took out a GSX-R at the light the other day though....hehehhe. I like them Suzuki's too though.
chain and sprockets are always to be changed together. Use this opportunity to change your gearing if you are so inclined. I believe RK sells "power kits" that include either a smaller front or larger rear w/ a new chain. ALso 520 conversions for those running 525's or 530's
If I don't change the sprocket at this point what am I looking at then? How long will this chain last? Is it really beneficial? How much damage will this do if any?
It depends on the condition of your sprockets right now. If, as your other post suggested, he swapped sprockets previously in the life of the bike (but kept the old chain), they might not be that worn. Problem is, it's been my experience that chains and sprockets have a tendency to equalize wear... So if you have sprockets with 30% of their life left, and you put on a new chain, the two will hit 0% usefulness at about the same time
Maybe that's just me though

If he's looking for more torque there is one of two ways he can go. You can either get him a front sprocket that is one tooth down from stock, or get both front and rear, with the rear sprocket being 2 teeth up and a 520 chain. http://www.kneedragers.com has sprocket kits for your bro's gixxer.
