Default 2 questions on 92 prelude Si

hey wasup all. lemme introduce myself. Ugly Blue 1992 Honda Prelude Si, eibach lowering springs, and almost no mods so far. gutted from front seats back. On to the practical stuff though. I'm running out of tread on 3 of my tires (more on that later) I figure I've got 3000 miles left at most (about one month), so im trying to decide wheter to just get some falkens, or to go for 17" motegi MR7 rims while im at it. I really am on a tight budget because Im buying a 1977 280z as a project car, so i dont want to blow my money on meaningless crap. Basically I want to know if its worth it to go for some good tires, and new rims, or should i just save my money. I want to go autocrossing, and maybe do the quarter for fun, but that'll just be a little hobby on the side. Part two, the tread on 3 of my tires are pretty worn, but the front right tire has quite a bit of tread left. is this indicative of a problem (unbalanced differential or something along those lines?) or is it just a wierd coincidence? thanks for reading the long post.

welcome to HT.com, you'll probably never get a response by asking all those questions in one thread. try asking 1 or 2 questions, not 10. haha noobie dookie, just hope no one flames you. be ready to stop drop and roll.

haha, most boards hate double posts, but who cares. I only have 2 questions.

1. Is it going to be worth my money to upgrade to 17" rims with my next tire purchase just for occasional autocrossing?

2. does having just one tire (front right) with 50%+ tread left, while the rest are down to 15-25% indicate that the tires are somehow unbalanced?

Is that better?
P.S. HT seems more knowledgeable than TOV, and more applicable to my prelude than HybridZ, so Im migrating here.

for your second question; having one of 2 front tires on less 50% while the other is above that will hurt but not much but then again if your tire pressure is not nowere near were is should be,you have a problem

the tire pressure is about 30psi for both front tires. its the amount of tread left that is different. maybe it was caused by a difference in tire pressure before i bought the car?

I have an idea.. Dont know if it is right... But sometime tires pop, go flat and have ot be replaced or something different... If this occured before you bought thr car, you dont know... It could be something horribly wrong, or it could be tires bought at different dates... It could be alot of things... I say dont worry about it untill ur next ste of tires act up, and plz replace all four, so this doesnt happen again.!

those backseats were completely useless. Still deciding what to put in place of them. I was thinking killer sound, but the weight is not my friend. Not to mention that money has now been diverted to my new project car, so the lude will have to be happy as a daily driver.
