i just bought a Kicker 800.4 amp for $300 on sale from this pretty reliable car audio place. so with that. theres another charge for $50, but im not sure what it is for (anyone know what itd be for?) They are charging $100 for installation, and they say it should be $50 for some accessories (chords and wires). Altogether, it should be about $520 for all of this done. I already put down $400, and im getting it installed tuesday. Does this sound like a good deal to you, or do you think im getting ripped off? Im just real nervous about this.

 

Well I would want to know what the $50 charge was not just blow it off as a misc. charge. Also $100 for an amp install seems expensive. Shop rates are usually $40/hr. I don't see a basic amp install taking 2hrs.

 

yea, im planning on finding out what that $50 charge is today, and they said it should take 3-4 hours, which would explain the $100 i guess. because they also need too take out my previous amp from a different spot under my seat and need to re-lay some higher guage wiring.

 

the price seems high when DYI are more rewarding...

 

true. but a DYI voids the 2-year warrantee.
