has anyone here rattle canned their car
Has anyone here spray painted their car with dupli-color or something... I was thinking about doing it down the road....my car isn't too bad....but i want to paint it a nice silver color. I just finished painting my wheels with some duplicolor, and they look really good....if i could get my body to look that good i'd be happy. peace and thanks
Oh boy.....I tell this to people almost everyday with questions like this.....NEVER EVER EVER bottle spray your car!!!! Those paints will make your car look worse, and they aren't compatible with the real paints at the bodyshop. Don't even use those can primers either!!! If you need to paint your car for cheap, go to Maaco or something.
I can't believe people are still asking these stupid questions.....spend cheap on your car, then your car will look cheap as well as lower in value. I'm not telling you what to do, if you want to rattle can your car then go ahead.

flat blacked rustoleumed my car a while back needed to be one color instead of 4 not to bad looking but alot cheaper than macco and who cares it runs and its not slow get to the looks part down the road
I had a good turnout, although I didnt do the whole car, I had a 94' accord and I live in NY so obviously i too had those big rust spots in the back quarter panels. I cut out all of the rust, dented it in a little, put some metal in the whole and then bondo'd it up. After all the sanding and bull ****, sprayed it with some primer, and then i roughed up the entire back quarter panel, using the pinstripe, dooredges, and end of the car as points to stop at so there would be no visible lines. I had no experience with doing this before but my girlfriends dad works for ford, and although he doesnt do the bodywork he knows what he is doing, so we had a whole section ready to paint, i did both sides of the car, and he showed me how to paint it and did one whole side himself. btw i went to a place and had the paint mixed for the color of my car and had it injected into a spray can. He showed me, putting on 2 coats of color and then 3 coats of clear, with drying time of course, and then had me pratice a little on just plastic and then i gave it a whirl on the other side. You can tell which side i did but the side he did came out good. Even with no experience i did a decent job, a lot of people wouldnt notice but i do because im am lookng for it. Also, it would probably be a different animal when you are doing the whole car!!! Good luck
i remember a guy did that on purehonda.com when it was REALLY big...i forgot his name, but he canned (is that a word?) it yellow and used automotive clear coat... his turned out realy nice and he dyed his whole interior using vinyl house dye...i would just go to maaco and call it a day...but thats just me...good luck though
