how to get rid of tint
Rip off the tint.. mix some water & dishwashing soup.. spray on the sticky icky.. let it sit for a minute.. scrape off with a razor blade. Not sure how to remove the rear window tint without damaging the defrosters though.
All you need is a razor blade and some goo gone or rubbing alcohol. I prefer rubbing alcohol. Takes it right off. This is so easy. I don't know about the rear though. That has defroster so be careful.

Good luck.
I have no idea what to do with the rear. I know most tint places are able to remove it for you. Maybe ask them?
take it to a tint shop. they took mine off for 10 bucks. the chemicals they used in the car..oh damn. i got dizzy just from standing outside the car. but it was only like a one minute job with the stuff they used.
I actually tried a different method a couple weeks ago removing mine.
I used a $20 garment/curtain steamer, it's about the size of an ice scraper. I just steamed the tint, and it pulled right off. There was some gluey residue left behind in a few spots, but I just used concentrated Windex and generic scotch pads....came right off.
...and I didn't lose a single defroster line.

get some window cleaner with amoia and a heat gun and it will come right off.
I'm happy as hell I pulled my tint off and don't have to worry about getting pulled over for tint anymore, plus I think the car looks cleaner.

i got pulled over and took off the front. the back should be legal so you could have the option of leaving it on. in NY only the front 2 have to be clear.
just slice the tint on the window...slash it across and start peeling...shouldn't be too hard and then for the residue, get some glass cleaner foam **** in a spray can and let it soak for about 30 seconds and scrape with the blade. Everything comes off in less than a minute. its so damn easy with just a exacto blade and some cleaner...good luck.
I just pulled mine off the other weekend. It looks alot better and my rear defroster works.
Materials Needed (in my case):
Windex
A couple of blades
Rags
Steel Wool (fine grit), the middle grade
Procedures
I removed ALL my rear interior panels that would have been dripped on by WINDEX. I then used a blade to peel off a corner to start the tear. I tore off the tint. Sometimes, it left a glue film behind, sometimes it didnt. I sprayed the heck out of the window. Once it was doused, I immediately started to use a blade to take off the glue. Once you accumulate alot of glue, the glue looks like a BIG loogy.
After I took off the blue once, I re-doused the window with Windex again to make sure all glue was gone. Clean it off with windex some more.
For the back, use the same procedures except use the Steel Wool over the heater film. It will NOT damage as long as you apply Windex. Took only 2 hours for me.
Good luck

My buddy owns a local tint shop and what he does is he sprays windex and applies black trash bags to the tinted windows. Then he uses a heat gun on the outside of the window, or leaves it out in direct sun light for about an hour or two, and the tint falls right off leaving no residue behind.
