I just bought a SOLO short shifter. First off is that a good brand, second i went back to the site and noticed a short shifter adapter...Do I need to get something else to install the short shifter or is that all I need. I have a 98 civic..Thanks please respond appropriatley< i dont think i spelled the right..."Owell"

 

You should be able to install it without any adapters. As for brand, my friend cracked his DC Sports short shifter, and I've never cracked an "eBay special"
