why would you want to paint it? something wrong with the silver colour it comes it?
flat black would be gk if you want that look.......but make sure you get some good qualitly paint that wont flake off or discolour with the heat........

nothing is wrong with the color or ceramic coating, its brand spankin new, its just that ive never seen anyone do that and i thought it would be kinda pimp. im still debating on whether to do it or not.
it will most likely burn off and look bad no matter how high temp you get. Had this happen on a car where we had repairded the manifold and needed to pait to cover the welds. Burned right off.
You'd have to have a specialty shop coat it like http://jetcoat.com or http://swaintech.com/
High temp engine paint works. I did it to my old Jdm Dc over a year ago. It burns off during time, just paint it again.

High-temp engine paint should work, at least for a while. As has been previously mentioned you could simply repaint it when it starts to look bad.
I'd paint it rust brown. That would be cool.

would painting/powdercoating the header trap heat in?
ive thought about powdercoating mine... anyone know how well the powdercoating would hold up?

read the post about powdercoating flowing at 350F.. i think what u guys are thinking of is ceramic coating.. not powdercoating..
Why don't u therm-wraped it?
Keep its it cooler. I've done this to all my headers.
Its different but has a purpose than the short period spray paint.

i think without a special coating its going to burn off just about any paint, when i had my ceramic dc on, i discolored the damn ceramic, so im sure that paint wouldnt hold up to the heat

that anr header looks sweet painted flat black, im still seriously considering painting it with high-temp spray paint. should i sand it down a little to make the paint stay on better? or maybe a clear coat?
