I just swapped a b16 into my 89 crx dx, the motor went in and starts fine, but it will run at 2k rpm for about 15-20 seconds, then the idle jumps to anywhere from 3000-4000 rpm, and the check engine light comes on, I cleaned the IACV, tried to adjust the idle screw, and messed with the tps, there is a code 7, the tps, would this cause a high idle like this? there was a map sensor code, but I checked it and then the code went away, any help would be great. thanks in advance

 

Did you check your vaccum?
Do you know that the Dx tps works in the opposite of the Si...so you need to invert the wires.

 

yeah, i swapped the tps wires, and checked the vacum lines, but if it was that bad of a leak wouldnt I hear it?

 

When I had problems with vacuum lines I looked at all the diagrams I could and nothing really helped me.... so I went down to NAPA Autoparts and bought ALL NEW VACUUM WIRES (5$) and started from scratched.. I mixed and matched them untill my idle came down....where it should be.
