Carbon Fiber choice
okay here are the 2 I have narrowed it down to as far as selling.

I have a fiber images hood on my car and it looks decent, but my friend has a vis on his and it looks ten times better. The vis hood has rolled edges, thicker layers, and the framing underneath looks stronger. If you look at the fiber image hoods, atleast mine is that way, you can see through them and they are flimsy. I would personally buy a vis hood if i had to do it again. Even the carbon fibers look cleaner on the vis.

VIS hoods are excellent!
I've just got mine last week, and gotta say it looks really really good!
There are no flaws anywhere in the weave, and has full supports underneath!

Spoon Weave is a carbon fiber weave that is tigher/smaller than normal carbon fiber. VIS and Fiber Images all use normal carbon fiber but only Sunny Styling through me offers the Spoon Weave.

i would go with VIS...they've come a long way as far as their hoods are concerned and their latest efforts are the best by far. If you're looking for a good hood at a good price...go with VIS.

i just bought a vis hood their newer hoods are a lot lighter than their older ones,.. i also like the finish on them i had a fi not too long ago i sold it for the vis,.. here is a pic

Spoon weave, normal weave. Doesn't matter people. The smaller weave is not woven any tighter than any other cf material. It looks tighter, but it isn't and is actually not as strong as the much larger weave. A 3k weave which is normal is 3 times as large.

Umm....who the hell would give you a new hood if yours flies off?? I doubt anyone would make that guarantee...all cf hoods require hood pins..I don't care what the company says.

yes i agree, neither vis or fiber images are very good. ive seen vis hood fly off the cars and they wont do any thing about it. fiber images says that you can run over their hoods but that is only because there is no rear skeleton under there. sunny stylin doesn't have rolled edges but at least their hoods arent going to yellow like the vis ones and you can get them in a spoon weave. they are really light and usually pretty cheap also.

The spoon weave made by sunny styling is there for looks. Supposedly the real Spoon and maybe even Benen hoods are strong enough where a fiberglass skeleton isn't neccessary. For $325 plus shipping I will include FREE Sparco hood pins with every order. VIS is $300 plus shipping as well.

I have an FI carbon hood. I like the look of the VIS hood with the rolled edges. I like the look of cf, but the main reason I bought a carbon hood was to drop some weight on my fat *** Si hatch, the FI was much lighter than VIS.
