I know what my setup is going to do, i know what my current motor does, and I just want to hear what kinda times street d-series are doing. Only a few shops know what i am doing. I can tell you this it's NA and going to run low 13's
And that is a high figure. If you doubt me like most already do on just my current times, go ahead, im going to post my slips now. Craig, you can visit me anytime and view my slips. Anyways I just wanna see what kinda times ppl are doing with street legal d-series and yes i consider a zc d-series, since the d16a1, is very damn close to a zc

A guy name Vince (13secondcivic) long long time ago from Purehonda.com had an ALL motor Tahitian Green 91 Si HB that ran 13.1s on the d16a6. then he got a ZC supposebly ran 12s in the SOHC or DOHC, i dunno after that he disappeared.. and sold his turbo kit to my friend whos actually selling it now cause his motor blew.. KINDA got off subject.
ha
ha
maybe not the fastest but he made some respectful times.
ask that craig guy or whatever the one who has the "lightspeed" sohcs civics, now he has a EK.

bisimoto is most impressive, i read his story how that crx is acually a low budget car, he invested minimal into his motor(the first one b4 he was big) and it ran 11s or 12s, sick n/a d16a
i give props to the sohc peeps
it takes ***** to build an "underdog" motor in this world of crvtec and b18c5 swaps

Kevdog, chill out bro.
Im not talking ****, but wow man... 15.5 with a D series... thats not hard to do and quite a few people around here are running a bit quicker than that... (including me)
I just could care less about running at the track and racing currently, I have other things to take care off...

Bisimoto ran a 10.77 N/A on a D15.
might have been what im thinking about.
might have been what im thinking about.
That block was resleeved and displacement bumped to 2.0 liters.
i know, I have seen pictures of his engine build up.
the pistons almost touch eachother.
The block is just a shell for an all out inside race motor.
I run 13.4 every god damn time.
I have 182 Hp and 134 lb/ft of torque.
No nitrous no nothing. My car is gutted to the bone.
You show me a NA D series engine putting out the numbers I have and I'll show you a NA D series engine that will make a CRX run low 13's.

That's a bunch of BS.

I've also heard that Bisi is making around 240hp to the wheels with his 1.5L and running 10.77 in the 1/4. He's on the D-series forum alot.
Hey, you must of resleeved your D-series to make 134 lb/ft. Because there is no way you are making that much torque to the wheels with a NA stock bore D-series. Maybe you sure inform us of what the specs are on your motor.
I wonder what would happen if a moderator were to see this thread...
Either way, everyone seems to be making their point.
-Bisi has a fast motor
-A lot of people are too quick to point out that they know more than someone else.
-Facts are facts. Learn them before making assumptions to avoid this in the future.

Well lets bring this post back to its original TOPIC.
back in 1998, my crx ran 13.6 on just head work. totally stock D16a6 block with no milling of the head whatsoever. no carb setup, no y8 manifold. stock clutch also. Daily driven and at 35mpg. it was my daily car and did a few things to it here and there throughtout the years but still ran 13.6 3 years later and after 100,000 miles on the motor. it went through so many 8200rpm revs everysingle day. who says the stock rods wont hold? for a basic all motor setup, the stock rods are fine.
Anyways, we currently do the same setup as I have had in the past. we developed different cams for every persons situation. mild/close to stock cam for the SCCA guys who dont want to be noticed with an aftermarket cam, street cam, wild street cam, to a full race D16a6 cam.
We recently built a motor that we think would do 12's on the street but that motor is currently on hold to put in a car due to the limited time we have. our priority right now is to finish the D16A6 CRX all motor EFI Race car.
check out website for some information. we will have updates weekly on more parts available for the Honda fans out there.
Oh and by the way, we work with RS MACHINE on all our race blocks. They also work with Bisi on his D15 CRX race car.

I guess the pictures that Spaceballs looked at were in a MAJOR magazine.
Facts,
Bisi runs a 78x80 motor 1529-1530 cc
Uses TWO dual throat carbs
For his car to run 10.77 @ 124 he would need......
240 engine HP for 1500 lb car
255 engine HP for 1600 lb car
270 engine hp for 1700 lb car
What does the car weigh WITH driver?
Who knows, who CARES!
Just understand a SIMPLE yet EFFECTIVE 1.5L with DRIVER and TUNING is kicking ***!!!!!
All those OLD V8 tricks I've always talked about, guess who research and improved them for use on his car?
Bisi E.
EDIT: You guys think I'm crazy now, WAIT. I'm not saying I can run the times he has, but I can make a huge improvements on my 13.0 ET's with a stock motor on spray.

What are the fastest street d-series times.
I have never seen this Bisi guy driving his CRX on the highway, so what's the point of all this argument?
Lets keep it to the point. 14.0:1+ compression is fine on a race car, but we are talking street driven. SO who has had a LOW 13 second street driven D series powered car? Sorry 13.6 is not low 13's.
I say Iceycrx better have a bunchof money at hand to make the power needed to make his CRX run low 13's with a NA D series.
I wish you the best Kevin!

Well currently craig, I think a 15.5 with just intake and exhaust. stock tire pressure a DX tranny stock clutch stock distrib timing. is damn good for a full interior crx. Now then, thanks guys for the info. Currently I believe I can run a 15.2 I just put a chip in and it helps a lot. And that 15.2 will be without my seat and probly with timing adjusted. Anyways george, you might ask why I say when im done which should be month or 2, damn xmas got my funds a little, that it should be a low 13. First off I know a guy at the track who has a mild version of what I am doing and he runs 14.2. Hey I could be wrong but every car I have been in or raced I predict almost exact times at the track. Anyways george hate to bust on ya, but your car should be a 12 sec car hehe. But when I get it done, waiting on my head to be brought back to me. Then gotta wait a month to get money for the cam. Xmas and family comes first. I will keep you all updated on what I have done and how each mod works with my setup.
Also Craig, you keep saying your new EG is all fast and all but i have yet to see you Post what you have done or what times u have ran.

it isnt too difficult to build a 12 sec daily street D16a6.
i only spent about $1500 on the car when it hit 13.6 allmotor about 4 yrs ago.
which netted a 140hp/118tq to the wheels on the dyno.
OT: $1500 = 13.6 sohc $5000 = 13.4 b18c5
we just finished the a street motor liek I said that I know will easily do 30 more hp to the wheels with a total of about 170hp with 120's in Tq. price on that? about $3500 in head and block mods. using a Skunk2 SOHC intake on that one.
so the technology is out there.. its just a matter of the SOHC fans stepping up and trying out whats available.

Actually, I think he said he stopped driving it on the street since the local police knew him so well.
Very interesting comments have been made of me on this board. My street experience is as follows:
1997, full interior, daily driven (my only car then), full 400w sound system, all motor d16a6, 92 octane: 12.64 @ 103 best. Consistent 12.8. My best pass was at an event that year at the pomona raceway...my peer racers in LA are all aware of that e.t.
Please do not pull me out of "street hibernation"...it would be quite interesting if I built another d serires for the street, with the current technology I possess.
