Hi i wanted to get greddy turbo in my car, but i heard that if could mess up my motor.... I got a sohc,, not a dohc... so just wondering.... if it does,, well looks like im going to be getting a new motor

do some homework..if turbo's 'messed up motors' why would they make them?..there are many companies to choose from or even doing a custom turbo you just have to know what's the best setup for your budget and the resources you have. get to know what motor works best under forced induction.

turbo in my sol...couldnt make a better investment!

 

The short answer is, yes. If you don't know what you're doing you WILL mess up your motor. If someone who knows what they're doing does the install then you will have less of a chance. It's always good to know about detonation yourself though.

If you dont know what your doing, dont put a turbo on it.

If its done right you shouldnt have a problem.

Go do a search and find more information about turbos...also how much money are you planing on spending???

If you have enought money go grab a B18C or B18C5

NO!!! detonation ruin engines!

 

anything if not used and taken care of properly can ruin ur motor. take some time to do some research and learn more before you dive into anything and you should be ok if you're patient and do things right the first time. sohc sol boosted running fine here . good luck and stay safe
