hey guys. i have an AT 94 accord dx coupe. i think my tranny blew recently. when i first got it...it would rev hard before hitting 2nd...but always would. but recently when i started the car....from PARK to D4 would take a long time. it would take a few seconds for the auto/transmission to fall into 1st gear. after 1st gear, it wouldn't go into second at all. it would stay on first and then go to neutral on its own. and now...it dosn't even fall into 1st, it just stays in neutral. dosn't matter if i'm in reverse, it just stays neutral. i think i need a rebuilt tranny, but if it comes to that, then i might as well opt for an h22 swap. any ideas on what it could be except for a blown tranny? thanks

 

Maybe the gearing is gone..or the thing that pick up the gear is mess up...
definity not a good sign.
expect at least 1200-1500 for tranny rebuild..
shelled out 1500 last summer for Tranny rebuild

 

yeah thats how much im expecting. think i'd be much better off putting in a little bit more and just opting for the h22a swap. what do you guys think?

 

LOL if you can shell out a h22 with a 5speeds that would be wonderful IMO..

 

YES thats actually my plan. no more 4-speed AT for me. haha. just need to find the funds now.

5-spd > auto, all the time except if you're a lazy person who doesn't like changing gears. save your money and the 5-spd swap, you'll be so happy.
