Idle air control problems
I have an 88' CRXsi and i just recently put a sohc vtec zc motor and I cant figure out why I keep getting a trouble code for the Idle air control. The car idles funny between 1k rpm and 3k rpm. The motor is really struggling for power inbetween 1k and 3k, after that it pulls hard. But after Ive driven the car for more than 20-30 min it seems to loose some of the power in the top-end, while not as noticeable as in the bottom end range. It might even be a vaccum line. I dont know if I have a vaccum line in the wrong place or what.
Also, I was wondering if anyone could explain the relationship between the tps and idle air control? It might be my problem I crushed the original TPS when dropping in the new motor. so i replaced it two seperate times(everone told me it was the tps that was the problem). Ive also replaced several Idle air control units. I dont even understand what the idle air control does.
Perhaps someone could send me a detailed picture of the top of their motor so I could compare the vaccum lines.
