Anti-Freeze
i have a 1994 Accord DX Coupe AT. i'm want to clean out my radiatior and put in new anti freeze. i went to prestone.com and got some good tips but i'm still sorta confused.
1. How do you drain your radiator?
2. How do you flush your radiator?
3. How much Anti-Freeze do you put into the container?
4. Do you fill the rest with water?
thanks

1. How do you drain your radiator? Drain plug at bottom of radiator.
2. How do you flush your radiator? Buy a flush kit at Pep Boys, use garden hose to back flush.
3. How much Anti-Freeze do you put into the container? Mix it half coolant and half water, should have capacity in owners manual.
The previous reply covers it pretty well. The only thing I would add/change is how to re-install the coolant.
Check the owner's manual for the total cooling system capacity. When you are done flushing with the garden hose you will have plain water left in the system even after you drain out what you can.
Using the mixing guide on the coolant container for the protection level you want, add that amount of undiluted coolant to the radiator and top off with water. (ie: if your system holds 2.2 gallons, you would add 1.1 gallons of straight coolant for a 50/50 mix).
If you want, buy some distilled water to top it off instead if whatever is coming out of the garden hose. It's cheap and it won't have any chlorine, minerals, or sediment in it.
