When did Clifford G4 get released into the market. When will G5 be released?
I searched the web to try to find out when the Clifford G4 was first released and when the Clifford G5 will be released but found no relavent information. If the G5 will be released anytime in the next year, I might want to wait because I have an alarm made by KARR right now that costs less than $200 and wish to have a better alarm when I start adding modifications to my car.
Gen 4 was released in early 1999....with much diasterous (sp) results
the quality control left much to be desired..( now for clarification.. I'm talking about the Clifford/Avital ORIGINAL designs, not the newer DEI stuff) ie..zero transmitter range ( a cold solder joint at antenna),manual trans remote starts that remote started vehicle regardless of programming. To put it bluntly as verified by a Avital employee " we rushed this stuff to market to quick" Personally I have always liked the product, but when you spend a couple of days doing a stealth install with a 7500 series for a good friend on thier new toy and another 3 days with tech and the reps in your shop wonder why this thing is not working like its suppose to...you kinda get your doubts. The new products have Directed internals,so your install should be trouble free.
Hope this helps
