why the X on the head lights ?
This may be a dumb noob question but If i dont ask I wont know .... why do people tape x's on their head lights when they are racing .. I have seen it at the strip and in pictures of track cars whats the point ? is it incase the brake like you do with storm windows or something ? im at a total lost for the reason for this ?

Dude youve got your answer. Say you got 25 cars on a road cousre and 1 outta 5 of them gets a rock in the headlight and shatters it. The other racers dont wanna drive through debris etc. Never wanna cut down a tire.

Yes this is correct
Same reason you are only suposed to run water wetter, insted of coolent. Coolent takes too long to dry on the track.!
Honda headlights are made of plastic. So chances of them shattering are pretty slim, but there is ALWAYS a possibility.
Plus, tracks in California are mostly located in the desert where alot of sand and rocks are kicked up in the air during the course.

you have to have them taped to run on a track, just because they are made out of plastic dosent mean they wont shatter if you run into the back end of another car.
so yes the tape is supposed to cover the headlights, an X usually isnt sufficent, white civic did it properly.
