Website says they aren't having classes and open runnings until 2004... I guess I'm gonna have to keep my HPDE'ing to Cali and Pac. Raceways until then.

I don't think the website is all that complete (they're so deep in HTML that they can't keep things updated). I have heard of events as early as jan/feb/march for SCCA regionals. No word on HPDEs and whatnot. KAMiN mentioned something to me about one in March? Don't know his source.

Should be a VERY, VERY nice facility.

Lots of long straights, followed by sharp turns. Hmm. In Phoenix heat, and on that track, your brakes should last, oh, what? 10 seconds?
Looks like fun. Nice carousel in 5,6,7....

Looks fairly nice. I wouldn't be worried about brake fade as much as all the dust that will be on track... Sometimes I miss Phoenix, then I think about the dust in the air, late summer, and Monsoon season there.... It would be cool if Houston had a road racing course, though Texas World Speedway isn't too far of a drive. It would be cool if Houston Raceway Park added a roadcourse - that would be awesome with a DragStrip, Dirt Oval, and road course all in one complex. But Phoenix having two road courses and Houston having 0, that sucks! Oh well, take some pictures and let us see this new Phoenix area Track with all it's glorious dirt

I hope they will offer the full course for the HPDEs. All the tracks here in Phoenix are all in the 1.x mile range so a 2.25 mile track is definitely good news! I'm so there for the 1st track event no matter what though!

I was reading about this place a few months ago before my trip to AZ to see my father. He lives in Sun City Grand, which is basically next door to Luke AFB. I wanted to go on a drive and see the new facility, but couldn't find the time. It appears the Solo-II community is after some Pro and NT dates there.

15402 West Camelback Rd
Litchfield Park, AZ 85340

From the website under "location" - http://www.mapquest.com/maps/map.adp...ntry=us&zoom=5

Mark - who still remembers the difference between Avenues/Places and Streets/Lanes.
