Default my idle wont adjust PLEASE HELP!

i have a 93 civic hatch with a jdm b16a swap, ITR intake, and header, and a kenji chipped p28. my car idles really low, about 3 to 400 rpm. so yesterday i adjusted my idle to 800, then i got in my car rev the motor then let it come back to idle and it droped right back to 400rpm. what the $hit is that? also if i am rolling at any speed in neutral my car idles at 15 to 1700 then as soon as my speedo hits 0mph it drops down to 400. any ideas???

ok here goes.... depending on what throttle body you are using on your car you should have a FIV (fast idle valve) located under the throttlebody. if so then there is 2 8mm bolts on the back of this valve. remove these two bolts which will allow you to remove a small access cover. behind this cover is a large white plastic screw. you can use this to adjust your idle. if not you may have a clogged IAC (idle air control) valve. this is located on the back of the intake manifold. it is bolted to the manifold with 2 12mm bolts. remove these bolts so you can clean the inside of this valve. i would reccomend using carburator cleaner. peace....

Use carb cleaner to clean the IACV.

And put hondabond on the inside of the FITV to keep it from backing out again and ******* your idle up. Trust me, I have had to mess with my FITV more than any human should have to.

edit***I need to read better, I didn't see that Hookups recommended carb cleaner
to me
