Default JB Weld as body filler?

i have a couple small dings i want to fix before the car gets painted, and i want a some filler that'll last the life of the car. anyone ever use jb weld as body filler? i know it would be expensive, but if it last forever, it would be worth it. my biggest worry is that it wouldn't be flexible enough and would crack.

..or for some reason the paint/primer/sealer wont adhere to it then you're in trouble cause you cant get the JB Weld back off. I would not take the chance.
If applied right, regular body putty will last. Thats what it is designed for.

yes, the flexibility of it would be the biggest concern. that junk is very stiff.. i would just use the uv bondo (extremely easy to use, no mixing) and make sure you prep the metal under it really well.

not only will it be stiff and crack, think ho w hard it will be to sand in and blend with the metal. plus primer and paint wont stick to it. use body filler. was designed for that.

well i used it to shave my rear wiper and to shave my rear squirter and its holding up a billion times stronger than bondo, paint adheres like a champ to it and it sands just as easy as sanding bondoglass. Not sure how it would work on big pieces but on smaller pieces i dont see it wouldnt work, hardest part is mixing it so you get no air pockets insie of it. stuff is kinda porous.

i used it on my s-10 like 4 years years ago to fill the holes from tonaue cover snaps. held up fine , was pretty easy to sand, and held paint. i smashed in the side of the bed and none of it even cracked.

An alternate solution would be to get the dings pushed out by one of those
mobile ding repair services. I had about 12 parking lot style dings removed
from my doors, quarters, and even from the top of one of my front fenders
for $170 (Can$). It took the guy about 90 minutes, and I watched the whole time;
it was very cool seeing the dents just disappear, like watching a movie backwards.
The paint was even saveable with a quick polish, and now I can't tell where they used to be.
Of course, there are some areas that can't be accessed from behind and can't be
fixed using this method, like the one in my door that was backed by the side-impact beam.

good luck
