increased hot spots along the cylinder wall is not a good thing. STR's is a little bit more but well worth the price innovation still means something....doesn't it guys. an STR original piece, it is much more effecient in water flow, than a tiny hole. but you guys weigh your options and decide whos ever you go with I wish you the best of luck with your engine
what does it actually do? sorry i am new to the turbo scene.. i am going to start building a motor for boost so i need to know these things any help would be greatly appreciated...
I would stay away from the STR unless you are gonna have you cylinders honed after install. I got one and it deflected the top of my cylinder wall.
Two thumbs down for sure. If you must do a block guard have it welded in, have the block decked and have the cylinder honed.

WE ( Golden Eagle Mfg. ) are the ones that designed that blockguard! STR just duplicated it. We have the ORIGINAL design here from Golden Eagle Mfg. Call for pricing!! (909) 592 - 4311 Thanks.

I apologize if you got one that somehow was defective it was probably one of the original ones STR had those farmed out by another company(Golden Eagle Mfg). There was probably faulty manufacturing to blame. That is why we do everything in house. we have redesigned the blocksaver to fit and work without a glitch. we also have many new products in the works.
Hey STR, who's product are you gonna copy now. God knows you guys have not one ounce of creativity in you!!! Biters, that is all you are. You bit our design on the intake manifold ( copied it exactly ), the blockguard ( copied it exactly ), ....oh, wait, you have a new style cam gear

.......wait a minute, have you seen the JG cam gear, you guys copied that one. My bad.

See for yourself!

calm down guys. its America, land of free enterprise. these things happen . People are gonna bite someone elses stlye and put their name on it . . . .
as long as it fits the same and looks the same i dont care if its got a different name its all the same stuff to me. my concern is if the stuff works, i dont care who makes it or whos name is on it .

Hey there is alot of great companies out there and to each his own. We gathered up other gears on the market looked at them and found what we could improve on them and we produced are own gears, so they got holes in them and bolts. As for the manifold goes it has always been an STR original. But that is here nor there. I was just commenting on the question about a block saver and clearly stated the differences between ours and the competitors. I hope that you buy ours but it is your decision on whos to buy and I wish you the best of luck with whos ever product you buy. If it wasn't for you (the customer) we wouldn't be in business so thanks for at least considering our products when doing any type of engine build up.
hahahahah vince vince vince, when will u ever learn to just shut the **** up and take it like a man. You dont see str talking **** anymore, you should do the same and just kill it. I'm a 110% positive that you saw STR people at the NHRA event. If you have a problem with them, you should have just said something to them there, or was it not that time of the month for you at that time.
