Default Opinion on what exhaust to buy

Wassup guys, I'm planning to buy an exhaust soon, but dont kno a cheap place to get it from. Money is an issue, so i was think about getting the Apex N1 muffler or the Fireball muffler and have custom piping. Anybody know where i can get either one of those muffler for a good price? and how much should the custom piping cost? BTW its for a 96 civic ex coupe. Thanks.

hopefully this thread will get some more traffic. OK i just found out lastnight i can get custom piping done pretty dang cheaply, however its not mandrel bent. Now, it is bent in a way where there is no crushing or wrinkles in the piping, would this be worth it? I am trying to find a cheap good sounding exhaust...was thinking this custom piping and an es oval....maybe a slightly better muffler...any suggestions?

if you get custom piping , it wont do **** for you unless its mandrel bent , if its not , all its gonna do is have a bling factor of 10 and noise factor of 8 , no performance

wtf are u talking about? how is non mandrel bent custom piping bling? If i was going for bling, i'd have either $800 full cat-back or custom mandrel bent piping. I would be doing this cause its CHEAP!
does anyone who really knows about exhaust know if this is worth it? or should i just say **** it, spend an extra $200 and buy a full cat back and have it a bit quieter and slightly more free flowing. ?

I would not worry about mandrel bent piping unless you get a greddy cat back etc.....

differences are very small when comparing mandrel bent to the crush bent.....unless you are trying to squeeze each and every pony out of your car...get the cheaper exhaust and thow a resonator on it...should sound nice and deep....

you are wrong.
mandrel is worlds better than shitty crush bent , you may as well keep your stock piping if you're going with crush bent.

if I only had a $1 for every thread that starts every day asking what exhaust to run on my ride......................

not that I am the best authority to say this, but search first, there are TONS of threads with valid arguments for all types of exhausts and why that is is better than this one, etc.

Greddy or one of those high quality exhausts.......did you miss the ECT. after that or what......

so what...you mean to tell me that your whole car is made up of good perforamnce mods.....and your not on a budget??

we do not all have money like you......to buy top notch products....why did you buy a honda civic???...man i shoulda saved and bought an NSX....

maybe i want crush bent....100 bucks better than 400.....buy your mandrel bent and ill buy and exhaust and a header, filter....

I would really like to see some dyno charts of how much of a difference mandrel bent piping and crush bent piping is....if there is a big difference then my bad.....ill save some money and get some mandrel bent piping....

from my experience i have seen tons of cars without mandrel bending that are pretty damn fast........

i just figured since there was an exhaust question, id ask bout the custom piping and mufler since its cheap.....its different than most comparison threads now....so i'd like some responses... and yes i know mandrel bending is better than crush, but this isnt crushed (my roommate just got it done and there are no crushes/wrinkles in the pipe), so i just wondered if it was a decent alternative to a really expensive cat-back

what?! unless your going for absolutely all out power of your engine, trying to get every last little hp out, the differnence is very small

Go with custom, crush bent piping and a magnaflow muffler. You will be pleased.

Probably would cost about $200 - $275.
