Whats wrong, tranny or clutch?
Okay well at stop light last week, I start to accelerate, not getting on it hard or anything, and there is like a pop noise, and the car just rolls, there is no engagement from teh clutch, but the cars engine is still on. The car goes in and out of every gear the exact same way it did, but you dont need to push the clutch in, it goes in and out without a clutch. And I have also heard like a clutch chatter from the clutch a few weeks before it happened till it happened.
Now tonight I know it had to be something clutch/tranny related so I pulled the tranny, and clutch. The pressure plate had weird wearing on it, from where the throw out bearing was hitting it(this clutch is less than a year old, but is an autozone clutch), and the springs on the disk were way loose. Now before I put the tranny back on with another clutch(act), I am just trying to figure out if this is a clutch problem or not. I think it is a clutch problem, but you guys probably have more experience then me..

Do you still have the transmission out of the car? If you do, put it in gear and turn the input shaft by hand...stick your fingers inside the case where the diff drives the inboard CV joints and make sure the diff is turning. You can put some pressure on the splines in the diff and try to hold it from turning to make sure. Take it out of gear and the diff should not turn when you are turning the input shaft.
Can you post a picture of the pressure plate and friction disk? I have seen the splines in the center of the friction disk get stripped out too...

The springs werent broken but they were way way loose int here, like touch them they would move around. And then the pressure plate had weird wear on the pressure plate. So I am guessing its the clutch.
